Encourage a small growing church in Cuba whose congregation has a deep prayer life and a big vision for their church in Melones, Cuba, Sister Church through the Cuba Florida Conference Methodists United in Prayer. St. Luke's is connected with the Melones Methodist congregation in the Holguin District in Cuba. It is part of a conference-wide initiative of connecting United Methodist Churches in the Florida Conference with Methodist congregations in Cuba. The two conferences have a long history of shared ministry that was reignited several years ago. St. Luke's has helped build a parsonage for the pastor, occasionally takes small teams to connect with the Melones congregation, and links with the Conference at the District level.
