Opening Doors offers music and movement, recreation, cooking, sign language instructions, arts and crafts, special themed events, and surprise guests for adults over the age of 18 who have a special need/varying intellectual disabilities. Opening Doors meets two Thursdays each month.Volunteers can anticipate a day of service that is usually like this: 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.: Gather in the “Attic” at St. Luke’s to be part of the team that facilitate devotions, music and movement, and special guests.10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.: Help with recreational games in the gymnasium, arts and crafts, cooking instructions. 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Enjoy your brown bag lunch with new friends, games and more music. Opening Doors offers programming two Thursday per month between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Serve as often as you are able.
